Having never worked with a designer in the past, my husband and I were hesitant to use Maria’s services. After all…can’t we all access Pinterest? But on the recommendation of a friend whose kitchen had been reconstructed by Maria, we decided to take the plunge. Maria first visited us on a January afternoon and immediately put us at ease with the whole designer-client process. Eight months later we have four completely re-designed spaces that we absolutely love. Our kitchen, family room, dining room and master bath have been transformed from run-of-the-mill rooms into colorful, bright, usable spaces that reflect our lifestyle and desire for creativity and playfulness. Maria guided us through the myriad of choices…all while stretching our dollars through her discounts and bargain shopping! Maria was a great listener and really got to the heart of what our style was, her designs were perfect for our lifestyle. We converted a too small dining room to a bar/lounge and Maria’s designs to transform the space were spot on! This is now one if he highlights of our home. We also did some work in a front room arts and crafts space and the kitchen. Maria infused our personality and interests and even highlighted my career as a marine biologist in each space making it feel really personal!

Maria was so easy to work with. She sat down with my husband and I to design the decor of our backyard patio space. She's extremely creative. She incorporated our needs and suggested amazing ideas. She's patient and has a quick turnaround. My husband even referred her to an out-of-state colleague and Maria designed her space remotely! Maria is a delight to work with. I only had to provide her with one photograph of inspiration and she made my dream master bathroom come to life. When we moved into our first home our excitement soon turned into frustration. Maria is very professional and easy to work with. I asked for her help to redo our master bathroom and install new closets. She understood what we needed and wanted, and it did not take long for her to show us layout suggestions. She referred me to the best professionals, took me to stores to help me choose materials, and oversaw their work throughout the renovation.We later hired her again to help redecorate my two girls’ bedrooms and she also delivered exactly what they wanted. What I liked about this project was that she gave us a spreadsheet with three suggestions for each item that we needed to buy, so I was able get the look the girls wanted, but still stay on a budget. I highly recommend her!

Maria completely transformed our living space. She listens well to what you want and will work within your budget. She is quick to respond , efficient, and will also work with the contractor if necessary. She redesigned our kitchen and achieved exactly what we wanted when other interior designers said it was impossible and she also redid our family room and pool bath. We now love our space! I wanted to share my experience with Maria Kaplan at MK interiors. I contacted Maria after a few people on this board had referred her. I had previously talked to several other designers whose fees were almost as much as my entire budget! Maria uses a flat rate fee structure so it's really easy and you know upfront exactly how much you will spend. Not only are her fees really reasonable, but she goes so far above and beyond what is included in her design package and treats you as if you are her only client! Last night I emailed her in a panic because my bag had been stolen from my car on Friday and it had all of the floor plans she had done for me. Not only did she respond on a moments notice, but she arranged to bring me new copies of everything today and then sat with me for a few hours to help me make some difficult design decisions. She would not rest until she found the perfect dining chair for us! She also did a really good job of marrying my tastes and my husband's choices, which is definitely not an easy thing to do!
